Description
The Louisiana State Museum (LSM) is poised for growth in the post-Katrina period and is seeking an experienced IT professional to support the statewide information services of the museum system based in New Orleans. This position will lead the technical support operations as well as manage Intel servers in a Windows environment. Should have experience setting up and managing a dynamic MS Exchange 2000/2003 server, is very familiar with Windows 2000/2003 server, and has set-up and managed active directory and permissions. Needs to be an expert in Windows desktop software and Microsoft Outlook. Experience required in networking (LAN/WAN and WLAN), storage and backup. Knowledge of digital imaging and scanning a plus. SQL experience desired.

Duties include:
End user techinical support, server operation, managing data storage and backup, network monitoring and support, including wide area wireless and SQL management.

Starting salaries will be in the range of $40,000 depending on qualifications. The State of Louisiana offers a comprehensive benefits package.

A baccalaureate degree plus two years of professional level experience in computer systems programming; systems, database, or network enterprise system support (hardware or software level); or electrical engineering.
