Docent
Volunteers play an integral role in assisting the education department fulfill its goals and objectives.
The word docent comes from the Latin word docere (to teach). Docents are essential to the interpretive mission of the museum and are considered unpaid staff. Applicants attend an annual 12-week training session led by museum education staff before they lead tours for the public.
