The Louisiana State Museum houses an important collection of presentation silver, including military, civic and sports-related artifacts. A large part of the silver collection comprises tableware and serving pieces used in Louisiana homes. Significant makers, retailers and manufacturers represented in the silver collection include the following: Louis Gabriel Couvertié, Jean-Noel de la Rue, A.B. Griswold, Henderson & Gaines, Adolph Himmel, Hyde & Goodrich, Christopf Küchler, Pierre Lamothe, Anthony Rasch, Maurice Scooler, and E.A. Tyler. Some of the silver was made locally, but many pieces were made in the Northeast and sold at local establishments.
