The Louisiana Historical Center also houses several microfilm collections. The largest single set of reels pertains to colonial Louisiana and the following collections can be used for research; The Louisiana Notarial Records Collection consists of 315 reels, (French Period 80 reels; 1714-1778, Spanish Period 235 reels; 1769-1803), Records of The Diocese of Louisiana and the Floridas (1576-1803; 12 reels), Colonial Records of St. Charles Parish, (1740-1972; 9 reels), Colonial Records of Avoyelles Parish, (1793-1796; 3 reels), Colonial Records of St. Landry Parish (1764-1793; 8 reels). Also included in the Historical Center microfilm collection are the Pontalba-Almonester-Miro Papers (1792-1796; 7 reels), and 59 reels of dissertations that were written about Louisiana, 1954-1978.
